Before I bought my RS I testdrove quite a few bikes. I loved the regular Z900 but hated the looks (I am 45 now, who am I kidding, cant ride a plastic bike!!).

Tried to find out how fast the RS did the 0-100 km/h (or the 0-60 mph) but couldnt find anything reliable.

Well, the bike is in the garage, ridden five times so far this year, going out tomorrow as well, and thought Id scour the internet for information.

    On https://www.zeroto60times.com/vehicle-make/kawasaki-0-60-mph-times/

The 2018 RS does the 0-60 mph in 3.0 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.6. Sounds too fast, or maybe mines just slower....  :001:

    Anyone know any better?

Mid 11s in the quarter mile sounds about right.  Not sure about 0-60.  Im comparing it to my 79 CBX that ran mid 11s and its very close to its performance.  Due to the short gearing of the CBX it ran out of motor around 136 so their respective top speeds are also probably pretty close.  Stock, its not a 10 second bike but with the ECU flashed, piped and with a 130 pound rider it might be.

I'm going with the stat because the 2017 Z900 is 3.7 seconds 0 to 60 so that means my RS IS quicker, why question it ? If enough of us confidently claim this figure surely others will believe it.  I also know that the RS is definitely quicker in the twisties than a brand new Yamaha R1 because I overtook a guy riding one yesterday on one of my local roads.  So we can honestly claim that as well.  What a bike eh.

You know, that R1 rider just might have lacked experience.  Id buy that before saying an R1 is slower in the twisties.

My entire comment was made in jest, he could definitely do with a few more riding skills.  I'll have to remember to put a smiley face at the end of my posts when I am joking.

Peter88,  I have been trying to find the Humour Font on most forums, so far I have been unsuccessful too. I have the same sense of humour, I find your posts most entertaining.

I am sure some of those figures are done at perfect conditions with Light weight riders.   What your RS will do depends on your skill and your weight and a few other things.   I have seen somewhere on YouTube that 3.1 second 0-60mph and someone on a Cafe did a high 11 second quarter mile.   I am sure if I would do this run with my 275 lbs it will be way slower.   Doesn't really matter to me.  I am past trying to prove something.  The bike is fast enough and it's a fun ride.   Can't wait for the weather to get better and actually ride the damn thing.
I don't usually have a big smile on my face, but when I do I probably am riding my bike.
