Glad you enjoyed halbie. Hopefully you got the chance to grab a bite at Mazama (well made sandwiches & great setting), or in Winthrop with multiple good restaurants.
I hope you caught hwy 20 during low traffic volume as it can get quite backed up.

Yep. Tuesday night in Winthrop and camped Wednesday and Thursday in Marblemount. Traffic isnít bad midweek. I made it to Mazama 3 times (I didnít go all the way back to Winthrop after I left Wednesday) to top off gas and enjoy 4 different yummy baked treats, a sandwich, goodies from their deluxe bulk foods, and top off gas.

After that area, I road north of Bellingham (and some of Mt Baker Highway) and then Chuckanut and some of Whidbey.

Just a fantastic 5-day solo trip. Here are the sunsets in Winthrop and over Orcas Island (where I am now and all this week with my family) from my Airbnb in Bellingham.

It was HOT today so I just took a 75 miler around nearby Bass Lake.  As I stood in the shade by the lake I heard a siren!  On the water! :008:  A wave runner was haulin azz and then I saw a tiny boat with lights and siren blaring.  The runner eventually slowed and not that thereís any place to run on a lake, but I doubt the lil cop boat was fast enough to catch him.

Kind of similar to a police cruiser chasing a bike...

Nice lake

Mount Si from North Bend, Wa - 2800 Miles
Reply #318 on: August 27, 2019, 03:24:45 AM
Mount Si from North Bend, Wa.  Mount Si is an extremely popular peak, one of the most hiked in the whole state.  It is the western most peak in the Washington Cascades at it's point in the range.  It has a commanding view of the Puget Sound low lands and the Sound itself and further west to the Olympic Peninsula.  There's a rock formation at the top called "The Haystack", if you look at the original pic and zoom in you can see it well.  That triangle of rock at the top.  The last ~ 100' vertical is only for real climbers or goats.  Have ridden 2800 miles now, am loving it more each day.

Oh I surely love this bike

my little hot rod
