Scenic Picture Thread
« on: May 29, 2018, 11:10:42 PM »
The other scenic pictures are hidden in some old introduction thread I can't find anymore. So let's have a proper thread to show off bikes in beautiful scenery! I'll start with tonight's view:

Nice idea and a gorgeous photo to get things started. I gather those are the Alps. I've hiked in the Jungfrau region (stayed in a tiny youth hostel in Gimmelwald and out and about to Grindlewald, Lauterbrunnen, etc.), stayed in Interlaken, as well. That was 28 years ago, though!! My family was in Zurich for a couple days last summer. Gorgeous places all over Switzerland.

I almost posted these photos yesterday w/ a brief trip report b/c I was so happy to get the RS out into some of the many great riding options we have in in the Pacific NW (of the U.S.). First two photos are on the east side of Mt. Hood (in Oregon), and the third is in the Columbia River Gorge (the State of Washington side) near the town of Hood River, which is one of the windsurfing capitals of the world. Note the white caps and windsurfer on the water (it was ridiculously windy ride home for me!).

If I want to post a scenic picture I would have to travel to your neck of the woods.  :084:

Today I got to ride with my mate Rob on his z900RS. It was his bike I rode 2 months ago so that when I was sitting in hospital recovering from my crash on the ZRX made my choice of replaceent bike easy.

I originally wanted to head up into alps today for the first time, but the weather there was a bit unpredictable. You can see that in the south, behind that ridge on the right hand side, the sky looks a lot more threatening. So I went north instead.

It turned out to be a lot of fun too, I happened upon this amazing piece of road (couldn't get the bike in the shot, there was no place to park it safely)

and some other interesting looking scenery.

Stay tuned, summer is only just beginning!
