Don't agree with OP. Hayabusa, Katana, Valkyrie, Interceptor, Virago, Shadow, Sabre, etc. etc. -- there are lots of Japanese bikes with cool names.

Yeah, the cool name really helps us overcome the midlife crisis. :002:

Guess I have to ride more. My hair still hasn't started growing  back.

(and yes the Valkyrie name is cool, but so is F6)

I don't like lame names either,

Personally and I may be a little biased, but I've always liked BMW's way of naming something,  first letter is the Engine type, numbers is the CC and the final letter is what it is. Adv, sport, roadster etc etc.

Triumphs name Bonneville is also cool and a legendary name at that,

All my favorite Japanese bikes have had mostly letter and numbers with a name sometimes. Z900, Z1R, VF1000F Interceptor (really cool name for a bike)

You want to talk lame names .Harley calling their upcoming streetfighter the bronx had me scratching my head, figured they go for a XR900 Or something'.

I dont agree with OP: Fat Boy, Fat Bob, Softail Slim (671lbs!), Sportster (not since the 1950s, if then). Associated with and sometimes trademarked: knucklehead, peanut, shovel. That takes some beating.
