Year of build
on: January 25, 2021, 06:42:23 PM
Hi everybody,
I hope I don't start a topic that allready exists, so if Ik do please forgive me.
I've got a brand new Z900rs, with build year 2019 according to the dealer that sold it to me.

If I check the VIN code, then the code for the year of build is a "C". That would mean 2012. In 2012 the Z900rs was not in the market. Does anybody know how I can get to know the year of build?

Thanks you all

Sticker on the left side of bike. Black and white lettering will give you the production date.

Thanks for the info.
On this sticker it says;

L3e-A3
E1*168/2013*00057
Frame number

What is the year of build? It can't be 2013 I guess because this model wasn't on the market then?

Thanks again

Wrong sticker?  Mine says 12/17 and I bought it on February 4th 2018.  In nine days it will be my two year anniversary :018: but it’s really three years old.  The frame sticker on mine has several printed lines of info with the 12/17 above them.

I don't have this sticker but I've contacted Kawasaki Netherlands and they gave me a hyperlink tot a European website where I gave in my frame number and I got severall information. It alsof said that my bike is a model 2019, so this answered my question.

Are you perhaps American? Kawasaki Netherlands told me there is a difference in the numbering within Europe and outside Europe.

Yes American and I do find it very interesting your bike doesn’t have that sticker. How about it my other European RS brothers, does your bike have that sticker?   :435:

Mine's Australasian and also doesn't have that sticker. Suspect it's there for American/Canadian (EPA) emissions requirements...

In that case look on the steering stem tube behind the headlight. That’s where they used to be.
