All other gears are smooth as silk but especially shifting up to 6th it is really clunky.
Bike has now done 4,000ks so if it was a settling issue I think that would have corrected by now.
My bike shifts a bit clunky too from 5th to 6th. My Healtech quick shifter doesn't like 5-6th gear changes much.

Seems to be a weakness in Kawasaki's modern (non-cassette) gearboxes. I had this issue on my Z900, so sold it (after I'd upgraded the springs). Bought a Z1000R and it had it even worse (check out the Z1000/SX forums and they are littered with people complaining about 5th-6th selection) so got rid of that before 12,000km. Now I have the Z900RS and it has only done it *once* so far. But I am keeping a close eye on it and will upgrade the springs when I get a chance.

I wouldn't call mine "clunky" but there is a noticeable "click" from 5th to 6th that isn't present anywhere else. I never considered it a bad thing, it is nice feedback on which gear I'm in if I'm not looking down at the dash.

Why would you have a quickshifter on a 110hp motorcycle ? Doesn't make sense.....

Why not? What doesn't make sense about it?

Peter88......after reading some of your posts....I see why this doesn't make sense to you.........
Please trade your bike for a car.

I've got one of most of my bikes, including my (only) 108HP Street Triple daily ride. Once you've used one, you will see why they are so fun...and if you want to beat others at a track it can mean a tenth of a second over a non-quickshifter equipped bike on a straight.

I am going to wait before I install a quick-shifter on this bike. Since I've switched out whatever Kawasaki fills the bike with (for Motul 7100) I have not had an issue touch wood. But will give it a few thousand km's before looking into it. If you do fit one, make sure you go with one that's adjustable like the Healtech. That way you can adjust the ignition cut if necessary and save your tranny!

My '19 Cafe has a bit of a different feel from 5th to 6th as well. I wouldn't even call it a "clunk". Just shy of 5,000 miles now & hardly notice it any more. Never missed a shift or had it pop out of gear. The transmission is as solid & foolproof as any Japanese 4 I've ever ridden. 6th just has a feel of being a little.. "extra positive".
