R&G v. Evotech
on: July 01, 2020, 01:49:27 PM
Was working my way through the R&G catalogue but the dealer recommends Evotech for better fit, quality etc. What do folks think? Always found R&G to be pretty good on my Street T...

Not had a problem with any R&G stuff, though as someone else said, they're not shy about letting people know you've bought their stuff! IIRC the R&G tail tidy isn't as an easy fit as others, ie you have to chop wires.

Iíll go evotech every time over R&G. Nothing wrong with R&G quality I just find evotech is that bit better and isnít plastered with free advertising.

I have the Evo Tech radiator guard because it's visible on the bike but won't pay what they're asking for the tail tidy - got this one instead:

I've got the R&G radiator grill and their sliders, both fit perfectly and I'm happy

From previous experience over many years of fitting aftermarket trinketry to more bikes than I care to remember, I believe Evotech products are top notch, and as well as superb fit and finish (at a price of course !!) they seem to have a bit of extra design flair / cool factor about them, and are not "shouty" compared to the likes of R&G (if I wanted "R&G" scrawled all over my pride and joy then I would expect sponsorship money in return LOL).
In addition, a friend of mine has recently fitted a boat load of R&G products to his z900rs and the fit and quality on some of the items were a little below par, he has complained and to be fair they are sending him replacements, but it still worries me slightly ?
All that said, I want an exhaust silencer hanger to replace the RHS rear pillion footrest bracket, and the choices are very limited !! A black R&G laser cut bent piece of aluminium for £70 (!!) and a gorgeous welded polished aluminium one from Webike site in Japan at £100 ish. Hmmm 🤔

I have the Gilles hanger.
Very nice piece, discreet ďbrandingĒ logo (which you can also leave off), and it includes plugs for the left side threaded holes.

I got mine from BellissiMoto.  Takes a bit longer as they arenít a stock item.
