Does anyone know what the service schedule will be. I'm guessing the usual annual service but is there any info anywhere ?

Called my dealer, the bike one, this afternoon. First service 1000km then at 6000 then every 6000. Had a chat about mineral, semi and full syn oil. Thought I was getting his opinion rather than the specs. I am tempted to run mineral oil for a while till run in.

I'm guessing it would pretty close to the Z900 service schedule.

I opted for the JASO MA2 spec oil. 10 bucks a litre  :006: but supposed to be the best. No brand names, already warned not to start an oil war. Jeez that oil came out clean, should have kept it and put in something else  :110:
valve clearance check 42000km
brake rubber replacements 48000km
coolant change 36000km are the big ticket items if you are paying
course a lot of you will never ride that far so no worries eh mate :024:

Hello all, it looks like we can now get the Service Manual as well as the Owners Manual on line now.

https://www.kawasaki.com/ServiceManuals/Manual/ZR900CJF

this is the North American one, but substituting in your own countries URL info will work as I got the initial info from our friends in Australia.

Cheers

I got this handy one page service schedule after the 1,000km service. Thought I would share it with the community because the format is nicer than the pages in the bike manual. Unfortunately this is in German - thus probably only useful for a smaller part of the forum.

That looks strange : Replace Spark Plugs every 12.000 ? We have Iridium Spark Plugs ...    :151:
They are designed for 50.000 to 100.000 km and  very expensive . 15 ($17) each

The plug manufacturers know the lifetime ofvthere product. As always main dealers are trying it on for some quick money .
At the 7800 mile service .  (Next year ) I well remove clean and inspect the plugs and filter. Im pretty sure Im put em back in and change at 16000 miles .
As the warranty is up in Feb. Im now free to do as I see fit ;-)

Manual says only to change Oil every 12000 kms, but the dealer says every 6000, I don't mind doing the 6000, since you can already feel a good improve with the new oil at that stage, nevertheless, quick money here too? About the plugs, with so many bangs and pops (fuel cut offs and air/fuel ratio not always on point) the bike does from the factory I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't last as much as they're supposed to, but 12000 is still a bit too conservative on my point of view.
