Bauce Racing ECU Flash
on: February 12, 2020, 05:16:33 PM
I've been considering the Guhl ECU flash for a while now and just discovered that Bauce Racing, which isn't too far from home, also offers an ECU flash for the Z900RS.  However, I know nothing about Bauce.

Anyone familiar with Bauce?  Using their ECU flash?

Nothing but crickets in here for days...but now I know why...lol.

As it turns out Bauce incorrectly listed the Z900RS on their ECU flash sevices webpage.  In fact they don't have a flash for this bike.  So not surprising that no one here is familiar with their work.

My vote is for Ivan's Performance.

I donít think you could go wrong with either Ivan or 2wheeldyno. I used Ivan on my last bike and 2 wheel on my Z.

And Guhl has gotten lots of good feedback as well.  The tough question is what the differences really are between the three...aside from price of course.  Everyone has an opinion on which is best but what I'd love to see are comparative dyno results and a truly unbiased comparative professional review.  I don't expect any of that to happen though so we'll just let the debate go on and do our best to figure out what we each believe is best.  All three appear to be good options...I'm still trying figure out the he best answer for me.  I thank you all for your contributions.

Purely comparing off the shelf ECU flashes can be tricky as none of them are adjusted to the test bike's particular bits and pieces (there's always some variance that exists between bikes).

Also, a handful of hp won't make a huge difference either. 5hp is big on a 35hp bike. It's almost indistinguishable on a 100+ hp bike. A bigger difference is the "feel", how smooth is it, throttle response, all that stuff, to me, makes a bigger difference than a few hp at the top end. :002:

That said, it would definitely be interesting to see!
