That's not a long scratch on the tail piece, just my shop led lights.
The parts are very high quality and I'm pleased.

What CaliZed9 said is accurate.

The 60 SAE rating comes into effect at 100 degrees Celcius and will be too thick
for normal temperature riding where I live.

The flow cst rate for 10W40 oil at 100 degrees is 14.
The flow rate for 10W60 is 24 or way to high for our engines.

I stupidly assumed that the high viscosity would only kick in at very
high operating temperatures, like track days and would be advantageous,
not at 100.

I never liked when doing a warm engine oil change, that the viscosity seemed
like water with 10W40.

They changed the label on the Motul 7100 10W40 saying that it was for off-road
vehicles etc.

I always seem to create problems for my poor Zed.

The back now looks very close to my KZ1000 which I like.

That Doremi rear fender does look pretty darn good on there. I'd like to ask what mirrors are on there? I like the look of that much better. Don't really care for bar end mirrors, but like the look of your mirrors with the shorter stems. Also, did you have the chrome off of the headlight bezel surround blasted off and painted black also? That side pick makes me think you did.

Hey Nick, the mirrors are Rizoma knock-offs. I wasn't sure if I'd like the style so before spending the bucks for the real ones I just bought these off eBay and actually they've held up great. They've stayed tight & adjusted which surprised me.
Of course they don't offer the rear visibility of the stockers but they do the job.

I found out that the Cafe model has the black headlight trim ring and just ordered one.

Oldkawboy, that's a tough-looking bike. I've been thinking about blacking out the silver parts on my bike but wondered what it would look like on the orange/brown. Looking at yours gives me the motivation to do it, although I doubt I'll go as far as those sweet carbon fiber wheels.

Thanks mfairplay.

The cf wheels really helps the bike in the twisties, they're a nice upgrade but not for everybody.
There's several nice forged options available for folks that don't want to fool with cf, I'm just a fan of light wheels.
