Iceland - anybody been there?
« on: December 16, 2018, 10:54:07 PM »
O.k. - I know this is not a travel forum.  Nevertheless many members here travel a lot. My wife and I have a 2 1/2 days stay in Iceland (Thur - Sun) coming up in January.  Any recommendations on a hotel (4 stars) and/or on a  travel agency for tailored daily tours or even a dedicated, realistic daily guide and/or any other recos/ideas?
Maybe rather/also by PM to not bore people here in the forum?
We are flying into Keflavik and  can either stay closeby (i. e. Reykjavik). Or move further away into the country but have to be back at KEF for the return flight on Sunday early afternoon. The Golden Circle Tour is supposed to be crowded in summer - has anybody done this in January?
And to avoid confusion: the bike will stay at home during this trip :016:

I was there back in 1989. I am sure it has changed since then.

I've only flown through the airport, but I'm a huge fan of the band, Sigur Ros, and if you watch this on a good screen and w/ good speakers, you're going to want to spend more than 2.5 days there!

Stunning scenery and terrain throughout the country.

Wow, great music and video. And perfect fit with the country's people and culture. THANKS for this excellent hint!
