Just received my front fender extender in matte black and it looks great.  Will get it on soon.  Now, if they only made one for the rear fender thatís more than 6-8Ē long.  A foot long would be nice. :002:

Got my powerbronze front fender on.  Looks great.  I agree, the rear hugger is too short.

Right!  Come on, how about making a (rear) mudguard extender similar to your front extender which looks and fits great?

Well, glad the fender extender wasnít too expensive as I lost it somewhere over the past 400 miles.  Itís funny that
Itís shown with show no attachment screws or rivets that were supplied (and) recommended.  I didnít like the idea of drilling the fender for the screws or the flimsy rubber rivets so I used a liberal amount of epoxy with clamps.  The clamps held it in place for 48 hours or so and it looked and felt quite secure.  I didnít think the rubber rivets would hold it in place at all.  Had it stayed on I was thinking about getting another to try and attach it to the rear fender but now...?  I couldnít see any way to remove the front fender, take it loose yes, but no easy removal.  Any ideas?  I do want an extender and I suppose Iíll have to drill the front fender to attach another one but if epoxy doesnít hold it in place on the front fender, and if one fits well enough on the rear fender, how would I attach it?

I understand not wanting to drill the fender, but I view this as a permanent form of protection, and I didnít want to risk losing the extender, so I bit the bullet and drilled. I wanted the powerbronze because itís longer than the others, and I just had the Akra headers ceramic coated, and I donít want to take any chances with pebbles or debris hitting the coating.

FWIW, I used  touch up paint on the screws, and theyíre really small, so basically invisible and out of sight.  Sorry you lost yours.

Yeah, thanks!  Me too.  It looked great and protected the rad completely and just the bottom 3Ē of the headers had debris marks that cleaned up well.  How did you drill, loosen the fender for more access?  I loosened every bolt on it and it just wouldnít fit between the forks fore or aft.  Iíd really like to fit one on the rear.  The area above that ridiculously short rear Ďfenderí gets trashed from all the road debri flying up.

Sorry, you lost your fender extender.

We do normally fit our extenders with the screws / push rivets that we supply.

The picture shown on our website (and on the earlier post above) is a prototype one and as such couldn't be bolted up to the bike permanently.  Once the production tooling etc was completed, we since bolted one to the bike permanently.

All the best,
Richard

The service manual says to remove the front fender your have to first remove the front wheel.

Richard, are the push rivets intended to go through the same sized hole you'd drill for the screws? Or are you using a riveting tool or something else?

I have installed 2 screws in mine, and I am contemplating adding the other two, but I'd use 2 rivets instead if I don't need special tool to use them. I know nothing about rivets.

Thank you.
